header location with parameters

Hi

How do i perform a header location and pass parameters

e.g i want to jump to a new page but pass some parameters

header("Location:http://www.andbookonline.com/redirect/redirect1.php?goto=http://www.andbookonline.com/~newsletter/competition.html&affiliate=adbc");

the browser gets redirected to the competition page but the affiliate parameter does'nt get passed !!!

anyone got any ideas why?

I'm not sure, but I think browsers parse url and send address and params separately. Try monitoring browser output (i.e. with NetCat) and check the headers. You might also want to read HTTP specs at http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616. I think GET and POST hold your answer.
