making sure pages are not cached?

Hi guys,
okay here's the scenario: The index page of the site rely's on template blocks to write dynamic menu links to the latest additions to the articles and projects databases.

I know that I need to make sure that this page is not cached so that it will display the latest articles and projects but I can't locate any information on how to acheive this?

If someone can point me to some relevant info I'd be grateful 🙂 (or if you have any other comments on this subject I'd like to hear them!)
