script to copy file to different drive

I want to write a script which will copy at a certain time daily a database file from its source location to a dir. on a different network drive.

Can anyone tell me how or where I might find an existing one?

As long as the network drive is mapped, you just need to use the copy() and/or unlink() function(s) to copy/delete the file. You'll need to add the script to your CRON jobs (on *Nix) or Task Manager (on Win32) to get the daily run as PHP doesn't do this.
