How to post your questions

Dear all,

When you post your questions on these forums, please make sure that you post all relevant information.

• This includes a CLEAR AND DETAILED description of your problem. Things like "it doesn't work" are useless. If a script does not do what you want it to do, then describe what it does and what it should do.

• This includes the ORIGINAL error message that PHP generated. (if any)

• This includes a codesample of at least 5 lines before and 5 lines after the line that caused the error.

Hey Vincent, I guess you've not got fed up banging your head against that brick wall yet then 🙂

Why don't they have stuff like that in the 'do a search' text before you post?

Yapf will have that. What's more, it'll have a few mandatory fields for data like that. gnagna

In addition to what Vincent said, it's also a big help to make the SUBJECT line meaningful. Things like the following are not useful:

  HELP (of course you're asking for help, we all know that)
  URGENT (may be for you, but we're all volunteers here
      and it doesn't really help you to
       try to strong-arm us!)
  SILLY QUESTION
  3 QUESTIONS (why not just say what the question(s) is/are?)

Instead, make the subject line say what subject area the question is about!
