Testing & Evaluation (more than quiz)

Hi!
I work for Warsaw University of Technology and I'm willing to use PHP for creating automatic testing and evaluation. Before starting to write it from scratch I spent many hours looking fof such software in the net without positive results. Maybe you know about it?

PHP is quite robust, and will permit you to build as complex and full-featured a piece of software as you want. It doesn't really try to think for you, like a lot of other evaluation software out there, and so if you have the technical expertise, it can be very powerful.

I know that PHP is VERY robust, but... I did not write Office or other software. If there is any "free" or "public" PHP source code basd on MySQL for testing and evaluation I am willing to use it. I can write such code, but if it is already written just ANOTHER version of seems to be a waste of time. Can you agree with me?
