GD Install Help

Trying to get php_gd.dll to load in, I am getting the following error.

I have read through the boards and followed steps that helped other get gdlib to run yet nothing will work for me. I keep getting this.

PHP Warning: gd: Unable to initialize module Module compiled with debug=0, thread-safety=1 module API=20001214 PHP compiled with debug=0, thread-safety=1 module API=20000809 These options need to match in Unknown on line 0

Anyone know what might be causing this problem for me or any ideas on how to get gd to work?

check the version of php. both the gd32.dll and the php engine should match.

download a fresh version, install it and then change the php.ini settings for the gd to work. the latest php version has most of the modules. 2 good

Well, I just downloaded 4.04 and did the install, got a new php_gd.dll and I am still have the same problem.

Guess its time to move on for now hehe... always seem to solve things when i put them out of my mind for awhile.

If you have any other ideas that may solve the problem please throw them my way!

well which webserver r u using.

use foxserv, it has apache, mysql, phpmyadmin, all configured.

php_gd.dll is the file where it comes in a bundle in the php download,

if u have problems again. go to sourceforge.net. give a search for forserv, download and install it/
this will be simple.

I am using PWS on WIN98 right now for developement, but my live server is win2k IIS
I cannot get either to work.

I will check out source forge and see what I can dig up, you think this is a OS specific problem?

hey,

PWS sucks, i did install some months by changing the registry and all that. please check the install manual on how to install in windows.

the good news is that there is a easy installer now for PWS and IIS

I have PHP installed and working great for what I usually use PHP for, I was thinking of messing around with GD Lib, but unfortunately I have tried everything, and nothing seems to fix my problem.. wierd.

I have even tried the easy windows installer.. didnt work.

heh. Oh well.. thanks again for all your help!

did u change the php.ini file and put the path of the gd lib. here in my setup it works great with apache as well as PWS.

Here is the message that I keep getting.. I am not sure why I am getting it. I have tried everything.

It says that I have version 4.0.2 but i installed 4.0.4 is there something I am missing here?

extension_dir = c:/php
extension=php_gd.dll

boggles me... and by the way..

WELL I DID IT!

Being the clever (yeah right) fella I am, I realized I was using a fairly stone age version of php (4.0.2), took me awhile to remove all the files necessary but I managed to get 4.0.4 to install correctly and gd lib now works!

we did several projects in GD library and also in Image Magick 🙂( this gives better resolution in image resizing. u will come to know about that later. plus also work in swift generator.
