I am trying to make an editor over the web that I can use to edit some HTML. The HTL is stored in a mysql db.

Problem is that editting occurs trough text areas in a form, from which u can later save/preview, when writing to the textarea the   get changed into ' ', fair enough. But when reading back they are still ' ', and I need to convert then back to &nbsp??

That will prob go for any &<what ever>;

??

you might try using &amp;amp; to display the ampersand, that should allow the browser to display the full code. In fact, that's what I've done in this post itself in order display &amp;amp;. Good luck!

why not use htmlspecialchars to display the html like this:

<textarea><?php echo hmtlspecialchars(str_replace("<BR>", "\n", $myvar)) ?></textarea>

thats how i have done a similar thing. maybe this is not exactly what you want, but its just a suggestion
