I have 2 websites. One has a MySQL database associated with it, the other does not. Is there any way I can link PHP files to Tables on the database for the second site without having to set up a dbase specifically for both sites?

What does $Host = "localhost";
actually do? Does it just call the local server? The 2 sites are www.homefarmneighbors.com and www.highlandparkneighbors.com. THANKS!

I've not tried it, but in your position, I would try:

$host="http://www.highlandparkneighbors.com";

and see if it works.

Uhh.. As long as they are both on the same machine, they both should be able to connect to the database on localhost. I am pretty sure you can't connect to a database through HTTP:// as shown above.

OK - I don't really know, I was just guessing. A workaround would be to host the actual HTML/PHP page on the other server, then it would see the DB just fine. If it needs to "appear" that it is running on the first server, you could put it in a frame (ick! I hate frames!) - anyway, it would work. Just use no borders on the frames and make two (top and bottom). make the top 1 blank pixel, and the other your page from the other server.

You could potentially connect to a database if it is setup to allow connections from non-local servers... This mainly has to do with what username/password you use to connect to the database with.

You would use

$host = "highlandparkneighbors.com" as a host, or an IP address of the server (no http:// or www. part).
