Is there any way by using PHP or HTML, to track the e-bulletines news I sent to my community users, whether they alreadly read or not?

hi,
you cud insert an image in the said document and put the link as an absolute path from u r site..as and when the image loads, u r site gets a hit, which when traced in the logs will provide you all the details...

Thanks for your advice, I could get what you saying, but I have no idea how to make it, using PHP or html <img> tag only?

Let say, I sent you a e-bulletin news, so when you open it, I want to know your email address. How can i apply your concept to it? Can you show me an example?

hey buzz...

in the first article u had stated that u need only to know if they have read the mail or not...
ok so u need info as well ....

here it is..

The mail that u send will have a dynamic image(PHP generated one !!)
<IMG SRC="http://your-site/somefile.php?email=emailid"> and when this email is read by the your user...he'll be sending a request to your php file...
in the php file you shud be getting the data and inserting it in a database ot appending to a file..
now its upto you what all u get from the php file...refer the PHP variables for more info...

u see this shud give u all the info req...

and u dont need to check the sys-logs as well :-)
