Protecting my php files

Hi,

I've got a little problem, I build a complete KeyOrganizer system in php (with mySQL) which can run in Windows and Linux. I would really like to protect this program with a serial key thing, and I've got the stuff for that but I also want know if it is possible to encrypt the php files so no one can edit them (or decompile). Is there a solution to make dll or other things from them which protect the source?
