Multithreaded Sockets

How can I use sockets and multithreading ? For instance, lets assume I want to open a socket to 5 different pages. how can I do that all at once and parse the results when they return rather than one at a time ?

Use PERL? PHP doesn't support multithreading.

PHP Does support multithreading but only when ran from a shell prompt. You need to have pcntl compiled into php. Read about pcntl_fork.

You can create a new connection and fork off then start a second and a third and so on. the only hard part is to regroup the information from the different threads back togather.
