Catching POST request problem

Hello!

When I generate some POST request and simple put data in it (not by HTML stuff of couse -i use delphi with ipHTTPS component), i find out, that i can't cath the posted data from my PHP script. All post variables was empty - so i don't know where i can find this data.

Can eny body help me? I need to know, how can i catch this data from PHP, or tha I mas do, to manualy generate the POST request, that PHP can undestand. I think, that my component do not generate some HTTP headers - it's seems, like my data was a part of request URI.

Yep😉 I have written in my first letter, that $HTTP_POST_VARS array was empty, then I processing my request, isn't it?

And it's must be empty - becouse I do not gyve any name-header. The question is, can I catch the post data, if i simply put it in POST requst context, or that additionally HTTP headers I mast specify, when I generate my request.

I haven't found any requared headers to this job in RFC2068 - so i think, that php can pocessing my request without any additionally HTTP headers - but if i wrong, please correct me 🙂

Search the forum, there are a few posts about creating your own POST header, that might help.

Also, it might help if you build a small echo-server (as described in the manual under the fsock functions).

Then you can use your Delphi thing to post to it and see what the headers look like, and compare them to what a test-form's post header looks like.

Well...

Every executable is provided with it's own environment... CGI programs have their own enviroments, which contain their own environmental global variables.

When several cgi programs run at the same time, the data that they process doesn't overlap because cgi1 has it's own QUERY_STRING, CONTENT_LENGTH, HTTP_REFERRER... and so doesn cgi2... etc...

I suggest you do some research on how to access environmental variables of other programs. May be using their PID... I am just guessing...

Oh, ho 🙂 I do not token about diferent CGI thread enviroments. (I do not token about threads of'couse 😉

And I have found the problem solution. The all of my HTTP POSR request headers was correct - the PHP can't interpretate context information without resourse name specifed. So, then I specifed the name like

'filename=file.txt&data=...'

where '...' - my file context, coded by UUENCODE, the PHP was correctly understand my request.
