Monitor Upload Status

Hello everybody,
Does anybody have an idea of how to monitor the status of a file that is being uploaded?

I tried with www.infomentum.com's AppletFileTM but that seems to be working only with .asp and .cfm files.
I would like to know if the same can be used in php and if so then how?
Anybody who knows the answer please help.

If you had searched before you posted you would have found that a 'solution' to this 'problem' was posted a few days back.

...and the solution is quite complex. It is much better to forget uploads through HTTP and use FTP instead.
