Fax a form

Does anybody know how I can have a form and upon probably click the submit button I can fax it .

The fax# even though in held in my table I'm sure I could either do a simple query to get it, or it could be static. And yes there is a modem in server.

    Check PHP's manual and look for "Printer functions". That ought to do it.

Not to sound lame but looking at "http://www.phpbuilder.com/manual/" for "Printer Functions" --I did not see it. Also was kinda looking for a little more direction than that--don't suppose some code would be too much to ask for. Thanks.

    Actually, I meant PHP's manual. The printer functions are here: http://www.php.net/manual/en/html/ref.printer.html
    I think it is a very good idea to download the off-line version of the manual (http://www.php.net/docs.php) to your disk and place a shortcut to it on your desktop so that you can always refer to it about 246 times a day. At least that is what I do. The best thing about PHP is that whatever you conceive, PHP is very likely to have a function that does exactly what you want. You're just left with the work of figuring out which of those Lego pieces belong together and build your application. I can't help you any more than that becasue I've never done what you want to do. I'd have to check all those printer functions myself and come up with the code for your project.

But then I'd be stealing all the fun from you, and we don't want that. :-)

Thank you Luciano--And of course one wouldn't want to steal of the fun of mind torchering puzzles, like solving the unknown.
In Windows my faxes are setup as printers, therefore when I want to fax I simply chose that fax as my printer to fax, an item. Do anybody know if my problem is as simplistic as setting a modem somehow up as a printer device as simply printing to it---Or is Luciano suggesting the Printer function for me to print to a file and then fax that file. ????

    It is that simple. Every fax program I've seen in Windows to-date (what is yours, by the way?) installs itself as a printer. You send a document to a fax as if it were a printer. Only instead of cranking out paper sheets, your computer will prompt you for a number to dial and fax the document.
    Take a look at the printer functions in PHP's manual (I took a very quick glance) and you will certainly be on your way. Find out how you print out a page with PHP and select your fax port when you do so. I only have no idea of how you're going to tell PHP or your fax program which number it is supposed to dial. Maybe you can pass in in variables or command line. You see, I didn't see the printer functions, so I can't tell.

I apoligize but in my last response I forgot the info of my server is RH7.1. And I don't think I can setup a fax to be a printer in Linux the way you can in windows--though I am pretty sure (even though I don't know how) that either way I could somehow make the submit button possibly use a printer function to make it print to a file, than maybe use the "exec" function use efax or something to send it--If that is the correct way.
