Strange Apache Logs

I am running Apache web server on my win based intranet for a small site on my win2k machine. Recently I have noticed some urls in my access logs that are of sites on the public internet .. my machine connects to the net thru a proxy server.... how are those urls getting logged onto my log file when they Arnt on any of the pages I serve .. I dont thnk I have visited those urls too.

A referrer is the page you were last one before the current page, this is sometimes stored in the apache log files. the urls you mention could be that...

for example, if you were on www.site_1.com and then went to site_2.com, site_2.com's log files would store site_1.com asa referrer....
