I am currently contracted by an Australian University to seek out a software solution to meet the following need:
‘We are seeking a web based tool which allows teachers to integrate seamlessly multiple choice questions into text or multimedia pages then provide feedback in the form of text or multimedia pages dependent on how students responded to the earlier multiple choice questions.‘
In brief the software must allow non-tech teachers to create instructional web pages for their students. The tool would allow the construction of pages using a library of media objects.. e.g. Text, images, audio, video etc. It would allow the creation of a multiple choice questionnaire to be inserted into the instructional page. A controllable matrix would then direct the user to other instructional pages depending on the responses to the multi choice questionnaire.
In addition the software must be able to allow coding of all interfaces and the direct interaction with custom DLL’s and/or JAVA class files to allow communication with robotic devices.
We are hoping to finds an open source solution to this problem. If you know of any products, open source or otherwise, that come close to supplying these features could you please let me know.
If we cannot find a product to fulfill our needs we will build it in PHP and JAVA. So if you know of anyone working on anything similar I would love to get in contact with them.
