PHP + MySQL: Who do you use?

Hi. I am trying to develop my first website using both PHP and MySQL. I have some of the basics down with each. My quandry is with my web hosts. I was using HostRocket, and all was good for a while (I wasn't doing any coding). Eventually I had a question for their support, and it never got answered. A couple weeks later I asked again, to no avail. I tried to cancel my account, and they still billed me... so they're slime (I am going to have to do a stop payment through my credit card company)

My new host does not offer MySQL or any db for that matter. So I think that's out the window, and I may have to change hosts. I'm wondering who you guys use and why? Thanks for your time.

Hmm... 10 MB for $7.50 isn't that great of a deal. My project is going to be media intensive. I appreciate the response though!

You could check out http://phpwebhosting.com/ for 10 a month, they look to have what you need (and maybe a little more?) As long as you're not looking to host porn 😉

As you're in the UK I highly recommend Designer servers. dsvr.co.uk With servers from 20mb to 2000mb, they normally fit the bill. Normally the VS300 is fine for most needs.

Their tech support is great and they let you get deeper into the config than any others I have seen.
