need help with sessions!

I've written a simple session example and waste 3 hours to understand why it is NOT work!

$count=@$count+1;
echo $count . " session_id:" . session_id();
?>
It returns the same session id, but it didn't make changes in $count.
Server options are

I think that this is something very simple but I can't get it by myself. Help! :-)

Shouldn't you set $count to a value first?

$count=1;
$count'';

I've tried that variant to. But the value i'd set up still have the same value from one refresh to another (however, sessions are working 'cause SID "plug" from one page to another).
If i try to use session variables on another script page the SID will correctly submit to script but NO variables come with this session!
(session_register("count") have no affection too)

I have add
session_save_path("www/web/site/www/sessions_exp/");
And was amusing by the fact that NO files were created in that directory.
Can I normally see this files?

I ran into similar behavior when I first started playing with phplib's session support.

It might sound weird, but I discovered that one browser (I think Netscape) would reload the page and the counter would increment. However, IE wouldn't reload the page, but after playing with it, I did confirm that the counter was incrementing. It's just that the browser window wasn't updating. I can't remember how I fixed this, but it was a browser issue for me.

May I ask you to post your config refered to sessions. (Like the one I've posted in first message). Simply type phpinfo() and copy/paste the information under sessions section.

I've tried to check your suggestion with 3 main browsers:
-IE 5.0
-NN 4.76
-Opera 5.11
And get the same result: nothing goes on!
(But the session id for each browser differs from one another. However, this is normal behaviour for that technology)

Yes, I set it to 777 (as for me 666 plays too)

I think the session files are stored in /tmp
