umm I have a webpage and some people seem to copy my pictures in their files and use my pictures I found myself on their own webpages. My friend also has
a website, she has something she calls
security that enables other people copying
her pictures. Do you know anywhere I can
get this?

I think you mean DISables.

This is not possible. There is no method that can prevent anybody from copying your pictures and saving them on their disk. If the image can be viewed then it can be copied.

The only thing you can do is make it so that other people cannot put the image on their own website by putting your website in the img tag. (which lets them display the image on their page, but the image is really fetched from your website, so they save bandwidth/traffic)

you can disable the users right click on their mouse. This doesn't stop people from taking the pictures as they can print screen and paste them into a photo proggie and they can also be got from the cache, but it does make things that bit more awkward for the would be image thief.

You need to get a good reference for DHTML.

or you could embed a watermark (digimarc.com)
and when it happens point out to them that the images are copyright protected.

I got this easy javascript for you to disable anyone to get your pictures:

As vincent stated, though, turn off active scripting (in MSIE) or javascript (in NS) and any blocks you throw up with DHTML or Javascript or both (the active scripting in MSIE covers both DHTML and Javascript) are gone.

To prevent image theft you've pretty much left the realm of PHP and entered the realm of web administration, which includes watermarking, requests to the offending site and their web service provider to remove the images, and possible legal action if you feel strong enough about it.

Just my two cents.

I don't have a right mouse button. You cannot disable my ability to save your image to my hard drive if I want to.

By the way, it's already written to my disk drive cache or temp folder so that my browser can display it. I don't have to "print screen" or anything else stupid to grab the file.

You cannot stop people from lifting images from your website, so don't go around disabling the mouse.

Digital watermarks and prosecution of theft are your only options for protecting your digital assets.

If it's valuable in image form, don't put it on the Internet.
