AND for what purpose u call me selfish

Are you talking about a full trace (ie. all the various router hops someone used to get to you) or do you just want the IP of the client requesting a particular page? If it's the later..... the $HTTP_SERVER_VARS["REMOTE_ADDR"] var always contains that IP.

here's a php script based upon the linux traceroute command.
I guess you are not having a good day Patrick? 🙂
"from which IP peoples are visiting my site" English is not my native language, but to me this sounds VERY much like he just wants to know the browser's IP.
How can you accuse him of not reading a particular section of the manual if you first claim you don't understand what he is looking for?
He asked for help with writing such a script, nothing more than that. And this is a support forum.
another way of IP viewing is: $REMOTE_ADDR
$REMOTE_ADDR and $HTTP_SERVER_VARS["REMOTE_ADDR"] are one and the same.
If you have 'register_globals' enabled in your php.ini, then $REMOTE_ADDR will be created from $HTTP_SERVER_VARS["REMOTE_ADDR"] automatically.
