Hello everyone,

Here's a challenge! Perl developer on Mac migrating to PHP on linux/apache. Need to develop large scale apps. With Mac, can easily check syntax of perl/cgi scripts. Love to find similar devel environment for PHP and linux. Have Windows(ME), but don't quite trust it's performance. Running Slack 8.0 and KDE.

So what do you need, a syntax enabled editor or an IDE?

try editplus for an editor under win32

Well,

ME is used for my audio apps. I have an audio website and I need to run certain apps that only ME can handle. NT/2000 don't support certain drivers(yet). Like I said, I use my mac for editing. I just built my first linux box(slack) and configed KDE. I battoned down the hatches and have apache running as well. I'd really like to devel in the linux environment. I'd like to write my code, check the syntax upload the scripts to a devel directory for testing on the dev site before putting it into production. Of course, Apache config and large devel environments are quite new to me. Guess I've got my work cut out for me. Any suggestions will be appreciated

Under Windows check out HomeSite, pricy ($100) but worth it (project mgt, developer mapping, snippet library, etc).

There is also TextPad, or UltraEdit, Zend's own IDE, and, of course, gvim.

Or under KDE check out Quanta Plus, vim, gvim...
