Stupid Question !!

How could I read one by one charactor from a String ??

for example: $string="hey how are you";

how could I read each charactor into $string ??

YOu can access each character asig $string was an array:

$string="hey how are you";
echo $string[2];

no Actually my Problem is..

suppose i have got three numbers like
$one=8;
$two=8;
$three=9;

what i want is , I have to calculate all these like..

$total=$one+$two+$three;

Now if $total is more than two digit, say more than 9 the I again want to split $total and recalculate $total.. like

suppose $total is again 12 the i want to calculate it like

1+2=3

how it would be possible..

Because $total becomes an int at that point, you need to type cast it as a string for the array to work on it

$one = "8";
$two = "8";
$three = "9";

$total = $one + $two + $three;

if (strlen($total) >= 2) {
$total = (string) $total;
for ($i = 0; $i <= strlen($total) -1; i++) {
$s += $total[$i];
}
echo("$s");
}

this echo's 7 as $total is 25

There is even better way to do it,

$one=7;
$two=8;
$three=9;

$f_total=$one+$two+$three;
$n_total=0;
while(($mod=$f_total%10)>0)
{
$n_total+=$mod;
$f_total-=$mod;
$f_total/=10;
}
echo "$n_total";

$f_total (final total) would be 24;
$n_total (new total) would be 6;
