Sessions problem

Hi. When i run my page i get the following errors :

Warning: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts/neasalamis.com/httpdocs/forum/index.php:2) in /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts/neasalamis.com/httpdocs/forum/index.php on line 14

Warning: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts/neasalamis.com/httpdocs/forum/index.php:2) in /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts/neasalamis.com/httpdocs/forum/index.php on line 14

I know that these errors occur when the "session.auto_start" directive is off in php.ini. I ran phpinfo() on my webserver and i found that they have PHP Version 4.0.3pl1 and the session.auto_start is off.

What can i do? Is it possible to handle these kind of directives through my scripts?

What is on line 2? Is line 1 a blank line before the <?php ?

Please write the code of the file as it is. A blank line does count.. If you add a blank it is also taken as a header and that should not be send after printing a blank line.

Ok guys. It is the blank line the problem. I just faced the problem in the past locally, and by setting the session.auto_start to on solved the problem.
