Php on local mechine ??

is there an app out there that simulates the php server side on local machine ???

There are a few packages that will run php on your machine, phptriad is a good one, I forget the address but either do a search or check out http://www.explodingnet.com/articles/latest/7

I assume you mean on a PC? Yes you can. Download Personal Web Server (PWS) from Microsoft (or IIS if you are on NT) and then go to PHP.net and download the windows binaries and install. VERY simple. You'll have to add "default.php" to your list of default documents though.

If you mean 'can I install PHP on my local PC' then yes.

If you mean 'can I put a PHP website on a CD and run it on any PC without installing it' then no.

Interested, I went and installed PHP onto my computer for use with Personal Web Server. Unfortunately now, my dial-up connection status is no longer visible in my system tray. Is there any way of getting back? How can I properly uninstall PHP from my computer? PLEASE HELP, I AM URGENTLY IN NEED!

My personall fav is www.firepages.com.au
which is apache/mysql/php/perl/gd/ssl all bundled up and preconfigure and ready to run you can download different combo's for what you need e.g. apache/mysql/php and comes with handy stuff like phpmyadmin pre installed so database management is a sinch
