file loading into the DB

Hi,
I want some information about the following..

i have many files.if i get the request from the customer i have to find few records stored in the file.
I am using java language.As file browsing is very time consuming i want to load that file in Db & qery the Db as it will be faster as compared to file browsing.
IS there any way to upload the file in the Db. & how can we acieve that?

A couple of questions:

What DB are you wanting to use?
What is the format of the file to be uploaded?
What program are you wanting to use to upload the file (I am assuming PHP)?
Is this a one-time upload or something that you are going to do repeatedly?

hi,

I am using oracle DB.
The file will be purly text format.
I don't know what is PHP.please update me on this.
I won't be doing this online..but will do repeatedly.
