Order by letters and numbers

Hello,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything in the archives.

I have a mySQL varchar field for holding CD catalogue numbers. They are usually structured like this:

e.g.

UR-556
UR-559
AB-254
UR-113

Is there any way I can order these by letters first and the numbers so I get:

AB-254
UR-113
UR-254
UR-559

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

In my opinion (and I've stated it before) mysql manual online is by far the best. It covers everything that you'll need to get your database running and keep it running.

I bought Paul DuBois' book without checking mysql manual, thinking that manual would be dry and not helpful -> I was wrong. Their manual is great!!!
