Question About Telnet

Hey is there a way to use php to access a server via telnet and get users who are online? Sorta like bbs, but more like a mud site.

Basically I like to create a who is online script that gets a list of who is online. You access the game via a telnet session. Let me know if there is a way to do this

I see the script, question though. It is in French and I am still fairly new in PhP. What exactly does that script do that you sent me to

This script starts up a telnet session and allows you to run commands to the remote server. This a class to do all of the connecting and communicating between the server and client, so that you can just call methods on objects to connect to the server, dissconnect, login, run commands, etc... .
