Hello,

I'm quite new to PHP so pls bear with me 🙂

I was taking a look at this website today as I have been looking around for good methods of browser detection/redirection

http://www.awebcompany.net/ie.php?incdoc=docs/web.design

I have written the js needed to detect what browser is what, and can redirect the user to whichever page, but I would like to know how they are being able to ?incdoc= in the URL and only have the center of the page change. Obviously meaning that the only thing that changes as in SSI is where the call is.

If anyone could help me I'd be very greatful,

Your question is unclear, but perhaps this will help answer it.

The URL that you have given (http://www.awebcompany.net/ie.php?incdoc=docs/web.design) creates a variable ($incdoc) that contains a value ("docs/web.design") in the location (http://www.awebcompany.net/ie.php).

They probably have most of the page hard-coded and then include $incdoc as the content of a section, perhaps done as follows:

<BODY>
<TABLE>
<TR><TD> The header stuff goes here</TD></TR>
<TR><TD> <?php include("$incdoc"); ?> </TD></TR>
<TR><TD> Footer here</TD></TR>
</TABLE>
