I had two Netscapes, 6.2 and 4.76 and both ran perfectly until 4.76 suddenly developed a strange demand for profile date.
Netscape 4.76 suddenly started demanding user profile data when I clicked on any Netscape4.76 icon and the only way I could access was to create a new username and then move or copy existing profile data to it.
I deleted 4.76 and installed 4.79 but now 4.79
has the same problem, a NEW username is required each time I try to access and I must either move or copy existing profile data. A previous profile doesn't work; it must be a new user name each time unless I go to the user folder and delete that previously entered username. In other words, once a new username is entered, it cannot be used again.--it has to be deleted first.
Netscape 6.2 still runs OK.
Why am I required to go through the routine of providing user profile data each time I try to
access Netscape 4.79?
