Although I am a PHP fan, I am now focusing on a great script that is done in ASP/VBScript (no equiv. in PHP yet!!).

I am interested in running this script in Linux and start expanding it with PHP. Can someone share with me their experience with Chillisoft (specially related to code performance, and ODBC/mySQL performance).

What is this great script that has no PHP equivalent yet?

Let's keep the question at high level right now. There are obviously tons of programs written for ASP (right or wrong reasons). I am not looking at a conversion job (too expensive). If I get good performance out of running them on Linux, I am more than happy. I do like PHP but if the price is 3+ months of new programming, it is a no go (as good as PHP may be- which it is).

It is a Classifieds script from scriptmate.com. There are some PHP ones but not as mature. I am not keen on a lot of coding (time is money).

Well if you must then you must. Why don't you just setup a test server and benchmark it's performance?

PS it might be a good idea to ask this question on an ASP forum too, they are bound to know a hellofalot more about it than we do.
