Dynamic redirecting... but not ALL :-?

Hi,

I'm stuck with the following problem:

I want to redirect users from
www.domain.nl/user

to
www.domain.nl/profile.php?mode=view&user=user

I've tried a few things but I also have to keep a few directorys working, like eg.:

www.domain.nl/1
www.domain.nl/2

They should work like normal and NOT to be directed.

If you are running Apache with mod_rewrite, this is simple. Read the tutorial that comes with the Apache docs.

mod_alias and mod_rewrite are different things, but you probably can do what you want with mod_alias. The key is the RedirectMatch or AliasMatch directive. Either one accepts a regular expression as an argument.

With a regular expression, you can match against a negation -- in other words, match anything that does NOT contain [1|2|3] at a certain point in a string.
