Counting the number of appearances

Hi to all:

I have a table with several rows, some of those rows are multiple values of this form:

Frec1|Frec2|Frec3|Frec4|Frec5

27095|40815|40725|40915|0
40695|40725|40915|0|0
40815|40695|40835|0|0

My problem is counting the number of appearance of the values.

In this case, the value 40695 appears 2 times and the value appears other 2 times and the rest of values appears one time. The values with 0 can be dismissed.

How can I count those values who can appear on different columns and group them on an accumulative counter.

Other question (maybe Off Topic), where I can find statistical functions for PHP?

you could use variable variables and do something like:

${'c'.$value}++;

in your loop. Your variables that contain the count would then be $c40695=2, etc.

Another way would be to use arrays:

$count['$value']++;

that would probably be better. I wouldn't worry about ignoring the zeros to start, just don't utilize the data.
