Why PHP :)

I intend to learn PHP ... or ASP so could you please tell me why should I prefer PHP to ASP?

why php:

1) its the right price ($0)

2) runs everywhere (windows/unix/linux)

3) has an extensive list of built-in functions

4) has great error reporting (asp errors can be useless)

5) is compatible with just about everything

why asp:

1) if you need to make a living

I like PHP's sintax more than I like ASP/Vbscript's.

I like it cuz it looks like C and I'm kinda used to it, and find it nice.

PHP is highly portable, and really speedy.

Even some Microsoft developers have been working on the PHP Windows version, and the speed is improved in windows.

Bugs [security and others] in PHP are found and fixed quickly because the code is open to lots of programmers.

PHP is really evolving.

ASP has some nice stuff that I like, and that arent in PHP, but in the end, PHP has the highest score in my book.

PHP programmers get lots of puntang.
