Amen to that. Visio is great for making flowcharts. But there are also a number of free and less-expensive tools, use google to find more.
There's always the template with all the flowchart symbols and pencil and paper? They still sell those, don't they?

You'll also need a pair of scissors and some glue, so you can cut and paste :-)
