using the # on links with php

I am trying to use the # tag on links like you do in html to send someone to a certain area of a page. But has anyone been able to do this with the .php extension on a web page?

If so please let me know the basics!

is not like a goto in php code it is a goto in html. You can make php generate a html document and get it sent to a browser. The browser will handle the # acordingly. For all the browser cares the php file IS HTML. You could very well tell apache to process .html or .htm or whatever as php. A php extension IS NOT a requisite.

what about when i am passing the link is where my worries are.

There is no difference in how a browser handles HTML with php extensions or htm extensions, therefore if you put an anchor in your page, and you have a link bleh.php#anchor you'll have no problems. If you use query strings in your scripts, there could be some small problems, but they are all easily delt with.

I think you have been generating pages without the requisite anchors. Visit www.pcpropertymanager.com/faq and see what I do there. All the choices and content are held in php, the links are php generated and go to a php generated page.

It's easy once you get your head around it.
