PHP whois that supports wildcard

Sites such as netsol.com allow for complex extry of whois queries that support wildcards. For instance, searching for:

do bob*

will result in a list such as:

bobhopkins.com
bobthetomatoe.com
bob-jamesbob.com

etc.

I've tried many PHP WHOIS scripts, but I haven't seen one that supports this. Can anyone give me a clue??

those systems query the root zones and then quickly run queries through whois. it's a bit tricky to set up but it can be done.

I saw an interesting site that does wildcard whois at http://www.whoisreport.com

They seem to have a really cool whois wildcard thing going there. They even search delete domains using the wildcards!

It would be need to have the PHP script they have.
