Navigation Menus

Does anyone know a good book or website that explains how to do a Navigation Menu with tabs such as the one at the top of this page. (eg. home, My Account, Articles,...)

I know that it involves .gif images but other than that, I cannot seem to find anything as far as tutorials or printed matter.

Try http://www.echoecho.com for starters. It's basic html concepts.
Just a table with no border containing side by side .gif image files. Then you make you link use that image. <a href="page.html"><img src="file.gif"></a>
