Limiting internet access

I am allowing staff that are using thin client terminals to access the internet, I want to allow the access, but want to ensure the integrity of the servers by not allowing them to download any files/programs. Are there any settings in IE that can be set/modified to restrict downloads or third party software that works in conjunction with the browser?

There are, but they can be easily changed back by any user.

But how is it related to PHP?

Oh well, my bad. I guess I've misunderstood this section in a long time then. I thought "general" was meant to be general questions about how PHP works, what it can do and what it cannot, how it gets along with other technologies, and anything otherwise not involving the level of detail discussed in very purpose-specific coding. If Microsoft ran a forum about the use of Internet Explorer and someone asked in there how to tweak the settings in php.ini, I would think it would be way off-topic.

Anyway (shrug), live and let live.
