SOS IMAP

Iam trying to make a web based e-mail. I installed an IMAP server. It is possible to create an IMAP account without creating a UNIX user?. How??

Yes... I have heard a lot of things about qmail (never tried it though). I did something sneeky and just messed with my promail and alias file. I made it so when a users "registers" he is put into an alias file which is read by the mail server, saying all mail for these people route into 1 account (user account). When mail comes in it gets processed by promail and sent to a users IMAP file under a certain directory, otherwise it gets sent to /dev/null :-D .

Thanks a lot for your help. I guess I'll have to make an user and then address all the mails to him with virtual address.

(Also you can make an "adduser" command, but this is not secure at all(also you have to make an "special apache")).
