knowledge bases??

Hey guys - another project that the boss dropped on me.

A knowledgebase..
I have seen some of the freebie stuff out there for FAQ manamgent, but thats not really what he is after.. What he wants is something like kbase (http://scripts.tlcwe.com/index.html), but we cant purchase anything right now..

We have thought of using some of the FAQ managers, or bbs/forums, but we dont need the "user addable" stuff -

any thoughts of a kbase clone?

What's the boss paying you to write something instead? Kbase costs $59 !!!

Even for a 100 licenses it couldn't be more than a couple week's salary. Sheesh.
