simple messaging script?

hi.

i want to set up a very simple messaging system for a small group of people.

i'd like anyone to be able to write a message using a page with an input form, selecting the recipient from a dropdown.

the messages for each recipient are then simply displayed on static pages

does anyone know where i could find such a script or whether i could easily adapt another?

I'd write it myself if i were you,what you're asking for is pretty straightforward:

1. A script that gets a list of valid recipients, and present to user.

2. A script that #1 posts to, writing it into a simple table (user/message)

3. A script that displays messages baed on the user accessing.

i'm quite new to php though - are there any good tutorials to help me do this stuff

i'm going through a book on php but it will probably will take me ages to figure out how to do it through the book as it covers everything
