PHP4 and PHPLIB?

Is there a current set of instructions for installing phplib on PHP4? All the documentation only covers PHP3, and references a whole bunch of files that don't exist in PHP4.

It would be great to find a set of instructions on this. If there aren't any, which is the more desireable path: use the authentication\session mananagement tools already in PHP4 and blow off phplib, or should I just stick with PHP3 and use the existing phplib docs?

part of your decision should be based on WHY you want to use PHPLIB. PHPLIB contains some nice site-security and Database abstraction layers, but most of the other functions have been incorporated into PHP4. If you are only looking for sessions, I'd just used PHP4's version. Otherwise, find a way to make PHP4 work with PHPLIB. I can tell you that it CAN work, because we have it set up on our dev server, I'm afraid I can't tell you HOW though. I'm just the scripting guy, not the install guy. :-)
