sockets

Hi,

I am trying to access a remote file by opening a socket on port 80 but keep getting refused...

The server does listen on port 80 as i can access it via browser...

my code reads like this:

Are you sure the page that you are trying to access isn't refusing you based on your User-Agent header? Or based on the content-type that you are passing? Here is what I use when I connect wiht a PHP socket:

// Build the REQUEST header
$header = $method.$url["path"]." HTTP/1.0\n";
$header .= "Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded\n";
$header .= "Host: $hostname\n";
$header .= "User-Agent: ".$HTTP_SERVER_VARS["HTTP_USER_AGENT"]."\n";
$header .= "Content-length: ".strlen($request)."\n\n"; //last header line

I pass the browsers User-Agent to the server that I'm calling, and I use a Content-type of application/x-www-form-urlencoded. I've never had any problems connecting to a page using this code.

Hi,

thnx for ur suggestion but theres still no change...

I altered my code as per ur suggestions but still doesnt show anything... just keeps printing my error"Unable to access servlet and its destination"...

any further ideas??

P.S: I can access the servlet via the browser..
