I'm used to Microsoft Access and am coming over to mySQL from that perspective.

I am familiar in mySQL with date fields, text fields, auto-increment fields, number fields, etc.

But I'm curious if there is the equivalent of a TRUE-FALSE field, and also of a "memo" field.

Please let me know if there are any resources on mySQL data type fields and field strategies.

There is a BOOL type...it as a an alias to a CHAR with a size of 1....there are also two fields, one is TEXT and one is BLOB. Those should work as a memo field. I would recommend checking out the manual page on it...
