Online texteditor for HTML forms

Hi!

I'm looking for a text editor for use in HTML-forms.

That is - I do not want a texteditor that can make HMLT-forms, but a javascript/java texteditor that is placed on top of textarea-fields in html-forms.

Know what I mean? Like a MS Word-kind of text formatting for use in web-publishing systems...

Do you know where I can find something like that? Preferably under GPL...

If what you mean is having buttons to make put bold tags or color text and so on, i want exactly the same stuff, and i think it cannot be written in php but in java or javascript... Dont you think ? If you have a hint....

Yeah, you're right - it must preferably be used some JavaScript.

But also maybe in combination with ActiveX, PHP, asp or something.

Both are free (GPL og GPL Lesser). Think you'll get what you need here :-)

The rewrite of OOHForms at http://www.ulf-wendel.de/projekte/form/index.php
shows how to achieve this using a special variation of textarea by Microsoft. You can also use DHTMLEd (ActiveX). Both technologies are supported by Internet Explorer though (DHTMLEd on IE 5.0 +).
