The best approach to using any templating system is to define the most generalized template areas like {content}, {menu}, etc. Each of these may be further turned into templates with its own template areas.
For this very reason, you should probably store the entire article with its image tags and everything your heart desires in its own media, perhaps in the database or separate file. When you need to display them, just insert the content either pulled from the database or read from a file handle and assign it to the appropriate area of the template.
If you want to change the location of the image and use the template for that, I guess it is not possible.
