MSMSGS errors

I am running Windows 98 and Explorer 6.0.26. I have been using MSM messenger forever with no issues. Until I upgraded to version 3.6+ and now I cannot have messenger and hotmail going at the same time. Also, I cannot use the emoticons and other features within MSN messenger. I often get the following GPF: MSMSGS caused an invalid page fault in module MSMSGS.EXE at 0177:0041aab8. And also every single time I try to shut down my computer it gives me an end task window on MSMSGS.exe is still running would you like to close it. I have to end task on it every time I shut down. I always close all applictions before shutting down too.

Does anyone have any ideas??

95% of microsoft problems are solved by reinstalling the software. Messenger isn't open source, so it would be hard to tell what causes it fail at address that you specified. May be you ought to try rollback to the earlier version.

P.S. PHP is server side computer language and has no relevence to Messenger.
