Online Text Editor

Hi, sorry if this has been asked a million times, but i am looking for a decent, working online text editor (so i can edit my sites code from a browser...the host only allows SSH, so i cant telnet in from any computer and code from there)

I dont want any wysiwyg editors, or template based ones, just a simple text editor.

Take your pick: The three common ones are pico, emacs, and vim. pico is small and easy to work with, but it is not exactly industrial grade.

I mostly use vim because even on the console, it does color-coding of my php syntax. This is really useful and does help prevent bugs. But it takes a little bit of effort to use. It is industrial strangth and can do almost anything you want it to (see info vim).

The final standard contender is emacs. I used to use mostly emacs, but there are a few things I dislike. Like vim, emacs is extremely complex and is capable of doing almost anything (including surf the web in a text-only browser). Emacs has the following killer features for some applications:

1: man man contains a lisp macro which can be added to your .emacs file, so that f1 brings up the manual page for the word under the cursor.

2: Paren checking! When you close a perenthesis or bracket in emacs, you get information on which bracket/paren is closed, or if the brackets are mismatched.

Mostly I use vim, but I use emacs when I need to quickly find a missing parenthesis...

May i know the url of using the web based vim? or i need to ssh(like from SecureCRT) to that server and use the server vim?

Thanks, but, as i stated, i need an online php or perl based text editor, not linux command line ones.

I cannot telnet into the machine, as it only supports SSH, and i cannot install a SSH client on the school computers.
