Intermittent "page cannot be displayed"

I am getting an intermittent error of "The page cannot be displayed" when clicking on a link on my site that goes to the secure portion of the same site (from http to https). The error only seems to come up in Internet Explorer and never in Netscape or Opera. Even with Internet Explorer (v6), it comes up only about every third time you try it.

The server is running Apache v1.3.19 with php v4.0.6 on Redhat v7.1.

I have been searching for information on this and haven't found anything that helps me.

It seems that this problem may be solved by changing the keepalivetimeout value in httpd.conf from 15 to 60. I have just applied this change and have not been able to get the error with IE anymore. 🙂

I will post here again if the problem crops up again... hopefully it won't.

Note: I previously had tried modifying the SetEnvIf MSIE directive (as I found suggested in other postings here) but that didn't seem to help.
