any valid alternative to soap?

xml-rpc can't offer many features like soap. But controversely, soap is developed mainly by M$ and this is why I prefer not to use it.

There is nothing currently under development that has all of SOAP\'s functionality. However, you needn\'t be afraid of SOAP. SOAP is not an M$ app. It\'s protocols are being developed by a group of authors under the aegis of W3. In fact, Dave Winer, the author of XML-RPC, is one of the authors of SOAP. .Net (dot-net) is Microsoft\'s implementation of SOAP.

Of course, unless required to by your project, you don\'t have to implement everything. Pick and choose the features of SOAP you want and leave the rest. Particularly if you aren\'t writing a service that is publicly available.

And what about the fact that Micro$oft changed the SOAP specs without warning Dave Winer?

And what about the fact that the majority of SOAP authors are Micro$oft-dependant?

And what about M$ being untrustable for its
bad tactics and evil tricks?
